What does a normal day working for Corecom look like?
I try and get to the gym most mornings, apart from a couple of times when it’s my turn for the school run (no gym workout needed on these days as getting my little ones out the door for school could easily be comparable to a gym work out).
Once I start work, I like to get really into the zone so I always ensure I have planned my day in line with my objectives for the week – trying to limit the LinkedIn scrolling as much as possible!
My days are usually filled with empowering our legendary team members by supporting them with coaching, mentoring or generally providing frameworks for them to reach their goals.
I like to stay hands on and meet with as many customers as possible to understand how we can form solid trustworthy partnerships to benefit us both.
I’ll spend the evenings either playing 5-aside football, taking my son to rugby training and, if I have time left, I’ll usually get through a few pages of a book or Netflix and chill!
What’s the best thing about working with the Corecom team?
I enjoy working at Corecom and I think that’s first and foremost down to the people. People make the company in my opinion. I also enjoy the autonomy and flexibility I get in my role, especially around a healthy work/life balance but also the opportunity to share ideas to drive the company forward.
How do you spend those well deserved days off?
I’ve recently retired from 11-aside football so I try get out to the gym or for a run most weekend mornings. Most of my time is spent with my family going to new places and seeing new things – the kids are really big fans of live shows and panto’s.
What job would you be terrible at?
Comedian – I can’t help but laugh at my own terrible banter!
What’s a piece of advice that has stuck with you?
Always treat people the way you’d want to be treated.
What I wanted from this partnership was to be able to take a step back and free me up to focus on my other responsibilities in addition to recruitment. Working with Corecom alone made everything so straight forward. I wasn’t having to chase up several agencies and there was no duplication of candidates. Tunstall was their no1 focus and I trusted them to deliver, which they did. There was noticeable improvements in CV-to-interview and interview-to-placement ratios which was a real pain point before changing the model on how we worked together. Working on a retained basis gave me confidence that extra effort and resource would be put in to filling the roles.
