In 2021, Corecom became the proud holders of the coveted Investors in People Platinum Mark. Achieved by just 2% of organisations worldwide, the Platinum Mark is the highest award available. It recognises and celebrates those that place empowerment right at the heart of their company practices, ensuring a healthy, engaged and driven workforce and, in turn, a strong and sustainable business. Assessed against a rigorous framework spanning leadership, culture and people management, we excelled against 7 of 9 key indicators and were praised in particular for the motivation and passion across our leadership team. We were also applauded for our dynamic culture and ambition as well as for the strong levels of empowerment and engagement throughout our team.

The award came at a time of much change for our business. Corecom BV was new to market and we were also just coming out of the second lockdown, so we were rightly thrilled with this news. It came as a welcome boost and demonstrated our resilience and focus through these darker and challenging times.

What platinum means for us

News of the achievement sent ripples of pride throughout our staff team. We knew we were different to other companies. We knew that we wholeheartedly lived by our company ethics and values, and that we cared and strived individually and collectively to be bigger than a typical IT recruitment company, to really impact the social agenda. But recognition of these factors simply created a catalyst for us. We got the fire in our bellies to stretch beyond our conceived limits, to analyse our processes and to identify ways in which we could improve further and flex our practices. Since achieving platinum, we have completed refresher E&D training amongst our staff team, identified knowledge gaps and rolled out further training sessions to address these. We have also undertaken careers coaching with our team and developed our community partnerships further, in addition to creating new posts on the continent thanks to our presence and success in BV.
