What does a normal day working for Corecom look like?
My morning usually entails heading for the coffee machine and taking my Cavapoo, Ziggy, for a walk along the River Ouse. Then I’ll either head into the Leeds office or into my home office and get on with calls, meetings and tasks for the day.
At lunch time I will usually go out for lunch with colleagues or, if I’m at home, I’ll head out for another walk with Ziggy and catch up with a friend on the phone whilst I’m out. Sometimes my team and I will pop out to La Botega for a fancy coffee mid-way through the afternoon as a treat.
I usually aim to finish at around 6.00pm and I’ll either head to a Pilates class, go swimming or head home to cook something.
What’s the best thing about working with the Corecom team?
I started working at Corecom Consulting in 2014 when the company was in its early stages. I have enjoyed learning and growing my skillset and qualifications alongside the business and playing a key role in its expansion and development.
The culture is fantastic. We are one big work family – everyone is supportive and, on the journey, together. I spend many hours of the day laughing!!
How do you spend those well deserved days off?
Travel, cooking, dining out and exploring new places.
What job would you be terrible at?
Any job that involves a drill – it usually takes several holes before I get it right!
What’s a piece of advice that has stuck with you?
“Make the day, don’t let the day make you”
What I wanted from this partnership was to be able to take a step back and free me up to focus on my other responsibilities in addition to recruitment. Working with Corecom alone made everything so straight forward. I wasn’t having to chase up several agencies and there was no duplication of candidates. Tunstall was their no1 focus and I trusted them to deliver, which they did. There was noticeable improvements in CV-to-interview and interview-to-placement ratios which was a real pain point before changing the model on how we worked together. Working on a retained basis gave me confidence that extra effort and resource would be put in to filling the roles.
